Default Armour All damage

Some of you car cleaning experts may be able to help me.

The dealer I bought my Camry off sprayed armour all with reckless abandon throughout my interior. Anyway it has left these transparent white stains on the climate control display and the plastic woodgrain.

Try as I might I can't get these stains off, does anyone have any experience in removing these stains?

Thanks in advance.

Ack!
In my experience, once you get those type protectants onto clear plastic, you're done. I have not had success at OLD silicone residue on clear bezels, BUt...maybe you can get it since it's fresh enough. Try a plastic polish like Novus;

http://www.noscratch.com/novus/index.shtml

Comes in 3 grades so you can go gentle or aggressive and somewhere in between too. If you want you can try PlastX or another easier to find plastic polish, but the Novus will be the most versatile if you buy the 3 grades.

Best of luck, I'll be surprised if you can get it out, but I'm pulling for you.

P.S. This should be notice to ANYONE that you should NEVER spray one of those protectants around your car interior. Apply it to a rag or sponge and wipe. You really have to seriously avoid clear plastic with it, as it does in fact state right on the bottle.

You have any pics of the stains?

I'd try a little vinegar to begin with. I'd soak a paper towel and lay it on the area for 5 minutes. Isopropyl alcohol may also be worth a try.

Be careful not to scratch the plastic.

If these fail then I'd move on to something more abrasive like Meg's PlastiX.

I had good experience with plastic polish removing the cloudiness from Armorall. I used a bottle of 3M plastic cleaner and a bottle of 3M plastic polish and did as the instructions said. It takes a little rubbing, but most of it will come off. The hard part were the corners and edges of the clear plastic where it meets the non-clear plastic because it's hard to get the towel into those tight areas.

Did you notice before you purchased the car?

No not the stains. What I did notice is that they car was like a grease pit! The dealer obviously believes that bathing the car in armour all is an important pre-delivery process. Everything was slimey!

When I got the car home I used some water and a towel to clean the interior up, it was when I did this that I noticed the silicon stains.

I won't bother taking the car back, unless I absolutely have to. The dealer is far away from where I live, so I'd rather sort it out myself.

I've cleared these types of stains up before with the use of Plexus.
