Default Remove emblems

I have a 95 SC300, and I wanted to take the emblems off the back of the car. In particular, I wanted to remove the SC300 which is in the center of the two brake lights. Is there a particular way that I could remove this so that I do not scratch the paint? Also, is the emblem glued onto the car? I do not want to leave holes in the car if there are posts connecting the emblems to the car.

there are 3 holes, so i wouldnt worry about scratching the paint (if you really want to take it off)
and to properly remove it you need to take the bumper cover off, but you just might try your luck without removing the cover, it didnt work for 2 of those rivets on my car

I replaced all my emblems a few weeks ago. Basically, borrowed a heat gun and had a go at it. Was a bit scared at first so made numerous passes to heat it 'gradually'. The emblems practically fell off the car!! I needed to apply slight pressure to pry them off, the glue was easy to remove as well after heating.

I followed this with some Scratch remover and buffing. After treating with polish and wax, the finish was like new again.

These rivets that you describe, will they leave holes in the paint? Im wondering are the emblemns just glued on, or are they drilled into the body of the car?

Each emblem has plastic pins that fit into holes. The emblems are glued on with double sided tape. The replacement emblems come with double sided tape, you just basically peel and stick on. Hope this helps.

I used floss to take it off so there would be no scratches. Taking off the glue is the hard part. I would go take ssultan's advice and use a heat gun.
