Default another detailing question...

this is a general question since this does not pertain to a lexus... my brother was driving his car one night in january (and the temp outside was about 10 degrees farenheit) and all of a sudden he heard a loud pop. it turned out his windshield cracked from the cold weather. well, he FINALLY got the windshield changed like a month ago and when the place did it, they put (what looked like) duct tape around the molding of the windshield and onto the paint. when i saw that, i knew it was bad news... the next couple days, it just poured and rained all day and night and when my brother went to remove the tape as he was instructed to do, the tape left a residue all on the paint and on the molding well, after trying to remove the stuff, i think its too dry to remove and not easy to remove at all!!! is there anything i can purchase to get this stuff off the paint AND molding or do i have to sit there and scrub the paint and replace the molding ??

Any adhesive remover should work. 3M makes some industrial strength stuff. There is also some Goof-off, and Goo-gone as well, that should work--just let it soak first. Afterwards, make sure you wax the area.
