Hey Andrew, have you considered getting an aftermarket Nav system? I spent a long time looking for a stock Nav system, but finally gave up. Instead, I'm planning on getting the new Pioneer Nav system that has touchscreen capabilities, XM radio controls, MP3 playback, and DVD playback. Pretty reasonably priced also, less than $2000. Anyhow, good luck in your search!

Hey Andrew,

Here's the link to Pioneer w/ all the specs. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pi...,92955,00.html

I almost purchased last years model a few months ago...I'm glad I waited. The touchscreen capability is new for 2003.

Hey Andrew, there where 2 posts a few days ago with members that installed aftermarket screens in the center console and it looked as good as stock.
I'll do a search for them.

Hameed, the price on the Pioneer website is MSRP. After a bit of searching, I found a pretty reputable place on the internet that sells the Nav system for a great price. The real bonus is that they also offer an extended warranty plan, 5 years for $100. Here's the link. http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...ionavsys910dvd

There are also a bunch of listings on ebay selling the unit for about $2k. But I'd rather avoid using ebay for such a large purchase. I'll be placing my order pretty soon. Hopefully so will you.

Default pioneer don't touch

the picture quality on the touch pioneer is not so good compared to the 6400 pioneer makes. I would get the name unit and the 6400 pioneer thats what i have and i don't have any regrets.

Fireball: did you also get the pioneer nav unit? If so, how do you like it?

The 6400 is last years model. The 6500 (which is part of the 2003 Nav package) seems to be an upgraded version of the 6400. Both are TFT Active Matrix Screens, however, the 6500 has the touchscreen controls. I didn't notice a huge difference in picture quality when I saw the two monitors side by side at a local store. Maybe I'll go take a closer look, but I really want the touchscreen function.

I agree the stock nav setup looks cleaner, but to just get the stand alone monitor would leave no space for the radio controls (unless you get very creative like other members have). I guess I just want to keep it simple.
