GS 400 SRT Intake w ECU 98-00
the car is for sale so I am selling the wheels and intake.........
Up for sale is a gently used SRT Intake and piggyback ECU that has been painted blue to match the body paint
the paint on the intake is removable if you prefer to have it in the stock silver color or want to paint it to another color; the blue paint is slightly peeling on the underside but it is not visible unless you are under the car looking up
The SRT system is superior to simple intake systems like the ones made by K&N because it includes an ECU that recalibrates the air to fuel mix to take advantage of the increased air flow. Also the filters on the SRT systems do not require greasing like the K&N systems - the oil used to grease those filters cause the MAF sensor to malfunction and you will throw codes. No such issues with the SRT set up.
in perfect working order - really wakes up the engine and changes the car's feel from luxury to sport car
if you were to pair it with a high flow exhaust system the gains are supposedly 30hp - not sure if that is accurate but I do know on a V8 that this upgrade is superb and puts a huge grin on my face when I hear the engine sound more like a v8 camaro or mustang gt - not uber obnoxious loud but same deep rev tone when you step on the throttle at just the right loudness level in my opinion - adds a nice growl when you step on the throttle
the stock intake system is very restrictive and this will get rid of all that plastic junk and really open up your v8
$285 picked up or $300 shipped
they go for $600 new at:

I live in Richmond VA but do make trips to DC and I know I will be making a trip there either 10/1 or 10/4 for business; you are welcome to listen to it then if I still have it for sale - it is still in the vehicle; plan was to take out this weekend

I think the torque curve does change a small amount to give more power in the mid and high range - you feel the difference I would estimate at 2200 rpm and up; below that on the low end it does not lurch or jump out as much due to V8 torque like it used to;
The best way to describe it is that under normal driving the intake makes it more civil and it is hard to notice that you have the intake on.
Under spirited or hard driving the difference is night and day - feels and sounds like the engine has been freed up
I remember the first time I drove the car with it on and I couldn't help but grin the whole time - many members say it is one of the best mods; I have had no regrets

I chose the SRT bc of the ECU that is included with it - both intakes actually look almost the same.
