Default WTB: Lexus NAV for GS300 with ML audio

I have GS300 with Mark Levinson Audio (2001 model) and am looking for plug and play OEM Lexus Nav that would be compatible with my ML Audio.

Aero,

There is no such thing as a 'plug and play' nav replacement, even with OEM unit. It's a LOT of work (wiring harnesses, etc) and only a couple of folks with detailed technical backgrounds have accomplished it on this forum. Suggest you search for navigation-related posts from members 'letsride' and 'bananags'.

You might want to consider an aftermarket nav system as a second alternative.

Dave:

the plug and play word came to my mind when I saw another member who has his 98-00 Nav for sale (his is plug and play)..

will check on your suggestion though...

I see Lexusaudio post. Sounds like he's got the harder part done with the special 'black box' connector for the wiring harness. I don't know of anyone that's used that in the past, but that's not saying it won't work! Never seen one for a DVD-based 01+ nav system, you might want to PM him to find out more details if one even exists. If it doesn't.... it's a mess.

actually just heard back from him that his won't work for mine (with Mark Levinson) because of DVD system on 01 and up model.

hmmm.....I managed to retrofit an OEM Mercedes Nav into a non-NAV equipped Benz before...
It was a lot easier to find the units as well with Benz..

Anything is possible.

It just takes time, patience and $ to find the right parts and to do the install.

You will have a much harder time trying to find the pieces that you need for this conversion. You may want to look at retro fitting the standard HU as well.

Neo:

that's what I was looking for..but it seems that it's very rare case to have someone do this...

i did it on my Benz not long ago (and much easier to find OEM Benz Nav compared to Lexus Nav)
