Just give the dealer the TSB number, they can look it up on their computer. That link use to work, but not anymore.

My paperwork from last week says TSIB # DL001-06
For both the control arms/trailing arms and new drive shaft.
Hope this helps.

Pump - I have moved your thread on the Thundercloud to the RX330/350 forum: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275985

We are a RX/GX family also - nice ride!

So I too have the clunk on my 06' GX that was built in 07/06. I called my local dealer and they told me they will order the parts and they should be in next week. The lady at in service asked me how I was aware of the clunk TSB "just out of curiosity" and I told her about this forum. But the nice thing is, she didn't even have to take it on a test drive to determine that it is needed, she just went ahead and ordered the parts for me. She told me she would order the driveshaft, and upper and lower control arms. She then told me that it's not a permanent fix and that it only helps the clunk, but it won't be gone for good. Has anyone else been told this or experienced this after they've had the TSB done?
I then asked her about the ride being stiffer after the TSB is done and she did not know anything about it. She said it should be the same, but if not, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Josh,

I haven't heard of anyone who has had the clunk come back after applying TSB DL001-06.

The stiffer ride is only temporary... mainly noticeable in corners. I actually liked the extra tightness in corners, but it only lasted for a few weeks for me.

Antonio.

I have an 06/2006 build GX that did not have any noticable clunk... until.... Now, just recently I sometimes feel a light clunk after stopping from going fast. I don't usually feel it when stopping from normal speeds. Still, I have under 3000 miles on the GX and I used to feel absolutely no clunk... so I am becoming suspicious. But what I feel is no worse than what I feel on my 1996 4Runner 2wd. Anyway, I am still unsure if I have the "clunk" but I have my driveshaft number below....

All 07's should of had the latest updated parts. Maybe his 07 somehow got the outdated parts installed at assembly, but I highly doubt it. Especially from Toyota/Lexus.
BobsGX or anyone... do you know what that VIN number in '06 that is the last covered by the TSB? Thanks in advance.

I did this a month back to see my 6/2006 build GX was eligible for the TSB (since I am unsure if my vehicle needs it or will in the future). Dealership could not tell me or was too lazy.

Still, the tech looked under my GX and took this number off the rear end of my current driveshaft (on a small white sticker with a bar code on it) (I just verified the number myself):
(this in bigger font on left and right side of sticker)
PNM5
(following #'s in the middle of the sticker)
31031000000
8140060426t013

The dealer checked but the number still could not tell them if I all ready had the new TSB parts from the factory.

So, would someone who has had the clunk TSB change be so kind as to check the sticker on their driveshaft and report back the number on the rear end of their driveshaft? Much appreciated in advance. Sorry for long post.

I've got an '07 Sport with the Clunk FWIW. Not sure of the build date.

After hearing of the issues people are having, I'm thinking that I'm going to skip the TSB; at least for now. I'd rather live with a little noise than let the dealer monkeys mess with control arms. Especially since it has no functional effect.

I've also noticed that I don't have a clunk if I run in either of the Sport suspension/shock settings.

If the dealer performed the TSB correctly, there is no issue with the TSB.

GatorGX, the dealer should be able to tell if the TSB parts are in your GX by looking at the rear control arms, the new one is bigger.

Thanks for the tip G Man, I will check next time I am at the dealer I guess. Still, if anyone checks out the driveshaft number (compared with mine above), it would help.

Also, if anyone can take a pic of one of the old rear control arms vs. the new larger ones, that would be helpful. Of course, the before/after pics may have to come from different owners.

Something just occurred to me. What is the most miles anyone has on their GX AFTER the clunk TSB was successfully done?

Anyone with 3000 miles since the TSB? 5000? 8000?

The reason I ask is that many people have reported that they never experienced the clunk on their original equipment GX until sometimes 3-8k miles (not sure on exact milage).... well, you get the idea.... will this clunk still be fixed after the new parts break in for 3-8k miles?

If you have had the clunk TSB done, please let us know if what milage you've put on since.

The other reason I ask this is now we are hearing of several 2007 GX's reporting the clunk and 2006's after the supposed 4/2006 (or so) change-over.... all making me wonder if the new parts (that may be on many 2006's and 2007's right from the factory) also will break-in after 3-8k miles (or whatever) and develop the dreaded clunk....

According to the TSIB, it says it covers model years of 2003-2006, so it looks like all of the 2006 GX 470's are included in the TSIB.
