Ultra Cheap $650 Lexus LS Purchase Makes Great Daily Driver

We’re not sure how this Reddit user found such a dirt-cheap Lexus LS, but he might have the nicest, cheapest daily there is!

While most take the term “daily driver” a little loosely, there are a few common traits. For starters, a daily driver should, at the very least, be reliable. Something that won’t break down on you and make you late for work once a week. Secondary things like comfort and fuel economy often come into play, too. Thus, most of us utilize newer vehicles as our daily drivers. Not something that we scored for less than the price of a couple of good concert tickets, as Reddit user “PM_Me_Your_Naters did with his Lexus LS.

Yes, despite the legendary status that the Lexus LS400 currently holds, the OP managed to find one in reasonably good condition for the paltry sum of $650. And amazingly enough, it apparently didn’t need much to pass inspection and get back on the road. Heck, it was only a couple of weeks prior to this post that he even bought the thing. Then, merely a week later, this Lexus LS was back in the HOV lane.

Of course, nothing this cheap is going to be anywhere near perfect. Especially when all the nice LS400s are still bringing pretty good money. But by the sounds of things, this particular car doesn’t need much to be a reliable daily.

“It’s fun to drive,” the OP says. “My only complaints are likely due to the issues I need to sort out. It feels floaty on the highway. It’s got a 80 mph+ vibration, the body needs a lot of work, and the WHEELS. The carpets have white stains that won’t come out and the ABS has an issue where it trips out at 4 mph. The exhaust is f*****. I’m working on the ABS issue, which is caused by the left front wheel speed sensor. But I haven’t begun on the highway driveability issues. I also have rims to put on it, just need tires.”

Not too shabby, we’d say. And we’re betting that for a couple more bills, the OP will have himself a nicely sorted Lexus LS before long!
