The Top 10 ‘Club Lexus’ Posts of 2021
Another year in the pursuit of perfection comes to a close at Club Lexus. Which means a look at the top posts most read by our readership.
Can you believe 2021 is almost over? It only feels like the year started yesterday. Yet, the pursuit of perfection knows no end. Not for Lexus, and not for us at Club Lexus.
Thus, it’s the perfect time to present to you the top 10 posts most-read by our readership. Thank you for another year of supporting your favorite Lexus enthusiast publication.
10. 2022 Lexus NX Revealed, Debuts Game-Changing Lexus Interface Multimedia System
In June, the 2022 NX dropped. With it came a new seven-inch multi-instrument display, an optional 10-inch HUD, and a 9.8-inch touchscreen with the option for a 14-inch variant. Not to mention a PHEV powertrain in the NX 450h+. More than a few of you were excited by the newly updated crossover to place this post in the 10th spot.
9. 2022 Lexus LX 600: All Must-Know Details of the Flagship SUV Are Revealed
A few more of you, though, were ready for the next LX generation. In October, Lexus revealed the first details of the LX 600, the fourth-gen LX that will also be the closest thing to a new next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser anyone will get, as no such successor will arrive in the U.S. We would get a better look at the flagship SUV at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show in its Ultra Luxury configuration.
8. 9 Celebrities Who Drive A Lexus
This next one comes all the way from 2016. It’s no secret Lexus has its share of celebrities among its customers, like Paris Hilton, whose love for the LFA knew no bounds. This post was but the tip of the star-studded iceberg, one that continues to grow with each passing year.
7. IS 500 Pricing & First Drive! (Best Modern Sleeper???)
2021 was the year of the F (more on that later), and the 2022 IS 500 F Sport Performance carried the torch for high performance. We took a Premium trim example out and about in our Los Angeles home, discovering how much of a unicorn this muscular sedan truly is.
6. 2022 Lexus IS 500 F-Sport Performance First-Look PREVIEW
Of course, the fact that the 2022 IS 500 could be had in F Sport Performance form posed a new question: would there be a new IS F? We’re still waiting on the answer to this question. For now, though, the hottest IS is in showrooms right now.
5. 2021 Brings the Long-awaited Return of the Lexus F Models
As stated earlier, 2021 was the year of the F. Not only do we have the IS 500 F Sport Performance, but we also reported on the arrival of the LS F and the LC F. Alas, by September, the LC F would not come to pass. As for the flagship sedan, the only F we have now is the LS 500 F Sport. Not quite the same thing as an LS F, though.
4. Lexus SC400 Manual Transmission Swap Thread
The SC 400 never had a manual; the SC 300 was the one to receive the five-speed W58 transmission. Yet, more than a few fans have gone to great lengths to correct this particular slight. One Club Lexus forum member gave us a build thread documenting the conversion, which helped place the post we wrote about it back in 2018 in the fourth spot on our list for 2021.
3. Lexus Reveals IS 500 Pre-Order Guide After Leak (Fridays are for F Presented by Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus)
The Year of the F continued for us in July, when we learned what all would be on the IS 500 F Sport Performance through a major pre-order guide leak. From the eight paint colors to all of the option packages and the big V8, the cat definitely was out of the bag.
2. Production Lexus LF-LC Will Carry the SC Badge
The second-most read post of 2021 is also the oldest. From 2014, we all believed at the time the LF-LC would be named the SC.
No. No, it wouldn’t. The concept became the flagship coupe we know today as the LC.
1. CT200h Is the Most Reliable Used Car, Says What Car?
Finally, the most-read post of 2021 is this one from March 2024. We learned that plenty of British drivers have plenty of love for the CT200h on the used market. Lexus’s only luxury hybrid hatchback beat out the Suzuki Swift, Honda CR-V, and the Toyota RAV4. That said, finding one at an affordable price in 2021 has become like finding a needle in a massive haystack of supply-chain issues and chip shortages.
