Production Lexus NX Small CUV Headed for Geneva
Going on record here that I’m not a fan of CUV’s and various niche crossovers. Their proportions are awkwardly small, yet they appear cumbersome. I could go on and on about this all day, but I’ll be honest here. I kind of like the Lexus NX. Earlier this year, some spy photos were caught of the Lexus NX in sheep’s clothing – dressed up in a CT200H body.
Then this awesomely aggressive concept (labeled the LF-NX Concept CUV) popped up a the Frankfurt and Tokyo Motor Show. Massive spindle grill, huge wheels, and an almost obscenely strong injection of Lexus’s current styling language in every angle juxtaposed curve.
A big announcement according to Auto Express, the production version of the LF-NX concept will grace the Geneva Motor Show next march and go on sale that summer. Slotted to compete against the Evoque, Lexus is reported to have trademarked the name with the following trims: NX 200t and NX 300h.
The rumors of a brand new Lexus 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine have been floating around but this is some good proofing on those speculations. The 300h is expected to utilize the 2.5-liter four and electric motor found in Lexus’s IS300h and GS300h.
