More RC F Renderings Surface!
As the rumors linger of the Lexus IS F’s discontinuation, more renderings surface of a two door RC F, a rumored replacement for the first skunkworks Lexus performance sedan.The latest issue of Best Car Magazine in Japan shows a heavily modified LF-CC concept transformed into what a future RC F could possibly look like.
This new Nebula Gray Pearl looking RC F rendering houses the large sport mesh spindle grille up front. The controversial headlight gap with the LED DRL appears although there are fog lamps that are mounted a lot higher than they should. Lets hope those fog lamps stay in the form of LED units and sit lower for actual usability. A large prominent hood bulge carries over from the IS F but new hood vents will aid in engine cooling and aerodynamic flow. The fenders feature an IS F like vent in which we hope they are usable for brake cooling rather than cosmetic pieces. The LFA styled lower rocker panel kicks up towards the rear and helps carry the body line up into the bumper like it does in the LF-CC concept and the new IS sedan. We hope that kick up is functional like it is in the LFA. The rear rendering doesn’t show much but we’re guessing the signature IS F stacked quad tailpipes will reappear.
The dimensions of this possible RC F will be a tad longer, a bit wider but lower than the all-new 2014 IS, but it is reported the wheelbase will be identical to the 2nd generation IS. The powerplant for this beast appears to be a carry over 2UR-GSE 5.0L V8 but will produce about 450 HP. Fuel economy is reported to be 10.0 km/l which translates to about 23.5 MPG. This is great news as the new 2UR-GSE may avoid any gas guzzlers tax. No word on the transmission but we expect a revised Aisin AA80E 8 Speed Sport Direct Shift with G-Force Artificial Intelligence (G-AI) already found in the new IS 350 F SPORT RWD.There is also mention of the IS F CCS-R in the article and will elaborate our thoughts in a coming write up.
