Ultra-Rare LFA No. 430 Flies Off to Amelia Island Auction Block
Lexus LFA No. 430 one of 11 in Steel Gray, one of 190 delivered to the United States, traveled less than 500 miles since landing.
There aren’t too many opportunities to catch a Lexus LFA in the wild. After all, only 500 were ever built between 2010 and 2012, and just 190 landed in the United States. Adding to this, almost all of them are tucked away in climate-controlled garages, coming out only for certain occasions. And, perhaps, to go to another climate-controlled garage.
Lucky for us, one such LFA will enjoy the sunny skies of Florida soon. RM Sotheby’s happening at Amelia Island is set for Saturday, May 22. Among the classic beauties heading down the block will be an ultra-rare LFA, No. 430.
What makes this one rarer than rare? It’s only one of 11 to ever wear Steel Gray. LFA No. 430 landed in Murray, Utah’s Larry H Miller Lexus in 2012. Since then, it’s only turned less than 500 miles on its sonorous V10. Thus, it literally still looks like it was purchased off that Lexus showroom floor. Not a scratch on the paint, hardly any wear on the tires.
Even the interior is immaculate after nearly a decade from purchase. Red and black Alcantara and leather pop from within the Steel Gray exterior, accented by carbon fiber and anodized metal. It’s almost too nice to sit inside upon the black seats to enjoy your Lana Del Rey CDs. You’ll definitely want to slip on some slip covers over your shoes before placing them on the red carpet mats, and don white cotton gloves before touching the steering wheel.
Or, you could just finally finish breaking in the hand-built 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10. After all, it’d be a waste not to hear the song it can sing when let out upon the open road, one carefully tuned by Yamaha’s music division, no less. Just let the six-speed auto do the work, you do the rest.
Back in its day, LFA No. 430 left the dealership for a sticker of $388,300. In today’s money, that’s around $452,000, a price RM Sotheby’s might get for the seller this weekend. Either way, it’s a rare chance to see a rare ride out in the open.
