Lexus Unviels the LC500h ‘Matte Prototype’
Lexus revealed bold ‘Space Orange’ concept at the 2019 Barcelona International Motor Show.
Revealed at the Barcelona International Motor Show, the Lexus LC500h Matte Prototype features “Space Orange” exterior paint and 21-inch matte black wheels. The orange color is also used on the instrument panel, the steering wheel, the sides of the doors and the brake calipers of the LC. In addition, the concept model comes with a carbon-fiber roof and an active rear spoiler.
“The creation is another example of the brand’s effort to keep innovating, this time using special colors with original textures,” Lexus says in a press statement. Indeed, the LC500h Matte Prototype concept is similar to the 2019 LC500 Inspiration Edition and the 2018 LC Structural Blue Edition. However, Lexus has not stated whether the LC500h Matte Prototype will go into production.
That said, the mechanics of the Lexus LC500h Matte Prototype are identical to those of the standard LC500h. This means the concept gets a hybrid powertrain that produces 354 horsepower. The power is sent the the rear wheels by a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The LC500h sprints from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds and it has a top-speed of 155 mph.
Meanwhile, the Lexus LC500, on which the LC500 Inspiration Edition is based, gets a 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that produces 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. The LC500 sprints from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and it has a top-speed of 168 mph.
