Lexus SUV Sales Post Sixth Straight Record Month
Lexus’ investment in a refreshed SUV lineup continues to pay big dividends in the sales race.
Lexus refuses to give up the ghost on the four-door sedan, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t ignoring its customers, either. With a strong, fresh lineup of crossovers and SUVs, the luxury automaker is quite literally killing it in salesrooms across the globe. This success has led to yet another record-breaking month of Lexus SUV sales in October, the sixth straight such occurrence.
Leading the way in driving Lexus SUV sales to new heights in October was the GX, which enjoyed a 15% increase year-over-year. The full-size ‘ute was followed by the LX, which posted an 8% increase. The NX enjoyed its best-ever October sales month with a 6% jump, and the RX came in with a 4% increase. That momentum is especially good news when you consider the fact that Lexus is heading into its best sales quarter, traditionally.
“We’re continuing to ride the luxury SUV wave with our sixth straight best-ever month for Lexus luxury utility vehicles,” said Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager Jeff Bracken. “Now we’re entering our favorite time of the year with our December to Remember sales event. The kick-off begins today with the best deals and product mix of the year. Of course, our customers can count on our iconic big red bows. Everything is lined up for a great close to 2017.”
Overall, Lexus posted October sales of 22,894 units. It’s a slightly disappointing drop of 7.7% based on volume and a 4% dip based on DSR. But it’s become abundantly clear that Lexus is well in tune with current market conditions. And even with excellent and innovative products like the all-new LS hitting dealers, the real golden goose continues to be the red-hot lineup of Lexus SUV offerings.
