Lexus Recall Over Engine Fuel Leak Affects 115,000 Units
Lexus is conducting a safety recall involving certain Lexus IS and GS vehicles.
Toyota has announced that it is conducting a safety recall involving certain Lexus models: Model Year 2006-2013 IS 350, Model Year 2010-2014 IS 350C and Model Year 2007-2011 GS 350, and GS 450h vehicles. Approximately 115,000 units are involved in the United States.
The involved vehicles are equipped with a certain 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. The diaphragm material in the fuel pulsation dampers in this engine may harden over time and crack, causing fuel to leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a vehicle fire.
Lexus dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with a new one containing improved pulsation dampers at no cost to customers. All known owners will receive a notification by first class mail starting in early August.
