Lexus Offers GX Black Line Special Edition for 2022 GX 460
Special trim and upholstery makes a great SUV even better.
The Lexus GX is a dream car for many, and for good reason. It effortlessly combines the rugged capability of the Toyota Land Cruiser with the comfort and luxury you’d expect from a Lexus.
No matter how bad the terrain is outside, the passengers inside will be swaddled in leather-appointed, climate-controlled luxury. The newest variant of the Lexus GX 460, the GX Black Line Special Edition, refines these seemingly dissimilar attributes beyond the standard model.
This special trim package is offered in Starfire Pearl, Black Onyx and a very outdoorsy Nori Green Pearl (our favorite). As you might have guessed by the name, the GX Black Line Special Edition stands out with a tasteful selection of black-painted trim parts.
Rugged and Refined
Lexus doesn’t do anything halfway, so there’s more to it than some different-colored trim. According to Lexus, the GX Black Line Special Edition is designed to “reflect Lexus’ core values of omotenashi (Japanese for anticipatory hospitality) and takumi craftsmanship.”
Besides the blacked-out trim, the GX Black Line Special Edition also features special wheels. Out back, the Garnet Red tail lights offer a subtle visual upgrade over the standard units. Inside, you’ll find unique interior trim. The new black headliner will give the interior a cozy feel. The bi-tone black and grey Nuluxe upholstery lends a bespoke, custom-made look to the already luxurious interior.
GX Black Line Special Edition buyers will also find special Matte Black Ash Wood trim on the steering wheel. It’s a delightful finishing touch for this very special Lexus GX 460.
Even if you don’t opt for the GX Black Line Special Edition trim, there are numerous other updates. 2022 Lexus GX 460 buyers can enjoy several new tech features. Intuitive Parking Assist, navigation, and heated, power folding mirrors are now standard across the entire Lexus GX range.
In addition, a revised center console features a new and improved 10.3” touchscreen. This new infotainment setup supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. The 2022 Lexus GX may be packed with new tech, but underneath the digital sheen, it’s still the same, highly capable luxury SUV we know and love.
