Lexus LS: Superior Choice to the Mercedes S-Class?
Can the significantly cheaper, all-new Lexus LS take down the legendary Mercedes S-Class?
The Lexus LS and the Mercedes S-Class, despite their differences, share some similarities. Both are full-size luxury barges loaded with technology features. Both represent the top-of-the-line offerings from each manufacturer. And both typically receive the latest and greatest styling features and other content which later trickles down to other models.
But the LS and S-Class aren’t really direct competitors, mainly because of price. The Lexus starts out at around $72,000, and the Mercedes’ price of admission is north of $96,000. And the S-Class has long held the crown as the ultimate ride of the C-suite elite. Regardless, the all-new LS represents a quantum leap over the old one. But is it good enough to go toe to toe with the old stalwart?
This video from YouTube channel AutoMoHo is brave enough to ask that very question. Obviously, we don’t know the answer — yet, because nobody has actually driven a new LS outside of Lexus brass. But it sure looks like a contender on paper. Purely from a styling and technological standpoint, if nothing else.
And this nicely pieced together video reminds us of that. From the striking exterior to the incredibly detailed interior, the new Lexus LS is a real masterpiece. An incredible amount of time and effort has gone into building something truly special. And soon, we’ll find out if that investment pays off in the form of a real giant killer.
