Lexus LC 500 Is a Tech Marvel, Says Motormouth
Thought Lexus couldn’t make a comparable, road-legal version of its gorgeous LF-LC concept? Meet the LC 500.
The Lexus LF-LC was an incredible concept that had it all: sharp lines, a bold interior, an amazing powertrain, and much, much more. But concepts are radically designed for a reason, and designs rarely transfer to real road-legal automobiles. But the LC 500 is one of those rare machines that has a lot of the same design features as the concept, making it, according to Motormouth Canada, a technological marvel.
The YouTube account recently got to spend some time with an LC 500 with the Performance Package and had great things to say about the grand tourer. “It is a very, very nice looking car,” says the outlet. The Performance Package, which adds 21-inch forged-alloy wheels, adds an extra dose of sportiness that makes for a “striking car.”
The interior of the vehicle, while “beautifully put together” does have a few quirks. According to Motormouth Canada, the car “is beautifully put together there’s leather everywhere” and the Performance Package adds alcantara for an even more upscale look. While the interior looks great, accessing some of the features, like the heated seats, heated steering wheel, and Bluetooth capabilities all require going through the infotainment system to access, which isn’t exactly easy.
Heading out onto the road reveals a lot of great things about the LC 500. Right off the bat is the glorious 5.0-liter V8, which makes an amazing sound. I think that [the sound] is absolutely spot on,” says the outlet. The 10-speed automatic transmission is fantastic, as “the shifts are lightning quick.”
The LC 500, which was meant to be a sporty grand-touring coupe right from the get-go, lives up to its true character. “For a grand-touring car, a grand-touring coupe, they got it, absolutely,” says Motormouth Canada. “This is a wonderful car to drive and tour with.”
