Random Awesomeness: Drift King Gives Lexus LC 500 a Proper Sideways Review
We’re don’t exactly speak fluent Japanese, but we’re pretty sure Keiichi Tuchiya enjoyed his time in a Lexus LC 500.
Sure, you (and we) have been all over the flood of Lexus LC 500 reviews coming from everyone lucky enough to spend a bit of time behind the wheel of the new luxury coupe. But those reviews, while valuable in a certain context, aren’t conducted by professional drivers. Certainly not guys like Keiichi Tuchiya, or as he’s known on the Internet, the “Drift King.” Until now, that is.
And it only seems fitting that the latest Japanese supercar receive a thrashing at the hands of one of Japan’s more famous drivers, especially a guy who likes to go sideways, even when it really isn’t necessary. He does it more for, you know, scientific purposes. Alright, it’s really just for show. But it’s a really, really fun show.
And this video review of the Lexus LC 500 by Tuchiya is a whole lot of fun. Even if you don’t understand what the heck he’s saying. Even with auto translator turned on, decrypting Japanese into English doesn’t make it much easier to understand, after all. But flogging a gorgeous car like the LC 500 is an act that transcends all known language barriers.
And we’re guessing by the looks of things that Tuchiya enjoyed his time behind the wheel of a pair of LC models. From what we can gather, he liked most everything about them aside from their obvious weight. Which is, coincidentally, the general consensus among most that have driven the car. And he hopes that we’ll see a tuned, F model in the near future, which we think is pretty much a given.
But let’s face it – the real reason you watch a video with the Drift King is to watch him, well, drift. And in case you were wondering, the Lexus LC 500 can indeed get sideways.
