There are countless options out there for the automotive enthusiast who wants to make their car stand out from the crowd. We truly live in a golden age of auto modification, and at times there are so many options we can get lost in the sea of parts. One of the more popular ways to upgrade Japanese cars has always been to install Japanese parts, which are often different from their American counterparts. Many times the Japanese parts are simply better, whether just in looks or even in performance. But where can you find authentic, quality Japanese parts and not knock off junk? Keep reading to see where you can get these parts, and what your upgrade options consist of.

Body Kits

Body Kits have been around for ages in the automotive world, and are especially popular with owners who want to upgrade their base model or plain Jane rides. If you didn't have the extra money to spring for the F Sport edition of your IS, you can purchase the same body kit that adds a racy look to the compact sport luxury vehicle. The entire kit will run you a little less than $3,700, or you can add individual pieces if you so wish.

Exhaust

The Japanese version of the Lexus IS F Sport also features an upgraded exhaust system with a very cool looking rear diffuser. The muffler alone will run you a little under two grand, and the rear diffuser is a bit over a thousand dollars, putting this package just a touch over $3,000. You can expect a bit more power, a more aggressive sound, and a much better look with this upgrade.

Suspension

The Lexus performance division, TRD, also offers a couple of suspension upgrades that will help you stay flat in the corners. You can add a damper for a little over $600, as well as a performance brace for a little over $1,000 that reinforces the entire body floor. For the ultimate suspension upgrade, TRD offers a shock absorber and spring set for around $3,400.

Wheels

Wheels are a popular upgrade and for good reason. They are an easy way to dramatically change the look of your ride. You can grab a set of ENKEI aluminum wheels for around $2,400, IS F Sport alloys for just under $3,000, or some TRD 19" forged aluminum wheels for just over $6,000 to enhance looks and performance.
