TRD and Modellista Give New IS a Sportier Look
TRD and Modellista are here for those that want more styling from their 2021 Lexus IS.
Welcome Addition
Lexus revealed its newly refreshed IS sedan back in June, though you'd be forgiven if you didn't really notice. After all, the new IS looks a lot like the old IS, as Lexus continues to refine the car rather than completely overhauling it. But if you really want some more dramatic styling from your IS, you'll be happy to know that there is a solution, and it has come to us from TRD and Modellista.

Two Choices
The two companies have teamed up to produce a full complement of body parts for the new IS, all of which add a considerable amount of sportiness to the luxury sedan. The biggest difference between the two kits is the color - while TRD offers these parts in black, Modellista sells them with chrome accents.

Additional Goodies
From there, we get the typical array of add-on aero bits which include a front spoiler, mirror covers, side skirts, rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser. TRD also offers stainless steel sport mufflers, Yamaha dampers, a steel member brace, and 20-inch wheels finished in Melanite Gun Metallic.

More Elegant
Modellista offers the same body parts, albeit with the aforementioned chrome accents that give the car a more elegant look versus TRD's more sinister and sporty appearance. Additionally, the aftermarket outfit also sells a set of unique 19-inch wheels to complement the look.

Lack of Info
No powertrain upgrades are currently offered by either company, but those are likely on the way as well. And in all fairness, neither has released pricing for these new parts, so we're not even sure how much they'll cost.

Visual Upgrade
As is always the case with these sorts of things, the parts will be on sale in Japan, whenever they go on sale. But if you've got your eye on a new IS and want to give it a big-time visual upgrade, either of these kits looks like a great way to do just that, especially if you tend to shy away from potentially sketchy third-party parts.
