I have 4 wheels for sale. No scratches or dents. 2 rims have a leak problem due to chipping of the chrome on the inside seal of the rim. The other 2 are fine. I will split them up if needed.

Is there a way to fix the leak? Do you know why the chrome is chipping? I'm not an expert, but I don't think I've heard that chrome chipping causes leaks.

I'm sure/hope you could sand down the area for a better seal??? I was told by the guys at Discount Tire that Chrome wheels chip after a while...I really don't know - maybe they are trying to make a sale. I not much of a mechanic. I just drive the car. I let the experts do the work.

I went on vacation and the buyer backed out so these are:

My brothers 01 430 had similar issues with leaking due to the chrome chipping... a tire shop sanded them down and the leaking stopped...

Just an FYI for anyone interested in the wheels.

One of mine is doing it now and I am sure that is why, just need to get off my butt and take it in.

yeah my rim was leakin casue of chipping of the chrome inside the rim, a local shop sanded it down and resealed it. If its really bad you might have to get the rim rechromed.
