Verify fitment before sending money
Hey guys, I just wanted to verify that these wheels will fit my 2000 GS300 without rubbing before I send out the money.
20x8.5
Front +42 245/35/20
Rear +42 255/35/20
I have also ordered TEIN CS Coilovers that are already on the way and plan on dropping 1.75 in front and 1.5 in the rear.
Does anyone see any problems with these wheels fitting my car without rubbing? The salesman said it "should" tuck right in.

Thanks for replying. Can you explain why it would look weird? Is it because it's tucked in too much? I had once tried on some 20s that were 20x8.5 +35 255/35 all around, and there was rubbing everywhere.

Your rear wheels will stick in too much. You should try to have the wheels as flush as possible with the wheelwells. The rear shouldn't have any rubbing issues with +35, 255-35-20. Many members here are running 20x10 +42~ +47 with 275-30-20 or even 285-30-20(staggered setup.) The front +42 will be fine with 245-35-20.

What if I can only get +42 for the rear? Would it be better to get 245 tires instead of 255? Or should I just wait to get the +35 for the rear and put on 255?

Tire Sizes
The tire sizes are larger then what I normally recommend for those wheels. You will probably rub especially with your coilovers. The wheels sound like the correct size. 245/30 20 will have the same OD as stock.

personally i would not go for those choices for these reasons:
1. the whole purpose of having 8.5 F+R, is to rotate tyres, with 245/255, you cannot
2. the front tyre is too tall, and will rub, esp with 1.7" drop, like Brandon said
3. the rear with 8.5 and 255 will not look as good as with 8.5 with 275s...again, the purpose of having staggered tyre is defeated
4. i hae seen few guys went 8.5 f+r they AALL sold the set up and went with 8.5+9.5 or 8.5+10 eventually
just mho
