Best Tire Option SC400
I'm going to need to replace my tires in the near future and I'm wondering what is recommended for my needs. I've got a SC400 with 16" wheels with 225/55/16 right now. I'd like the new tires to have an aggressive looking tread pattern, but I'm not actually going to need a maximum performance tire. I'd actually prefer them to have long tread life and be as quiet as possible. Is there such a tire out there? My car came with Pirelli Vizzola P8000's and they seem like they wear pretty quickly, but I do like the tread pattern. Thanks! I know it's silly to just want an agressive looking tread without all the grip, but I like the look and I wouldn't dare be out hammering corners in my SC.

Wow! I actually went to The Tire Racks web page and looked around.....they do a pretty good job of answering all the questions I had. I would still like to hear any further recommendations form the Club Lexus members if you have any.

It's a good web site.
Unless you get a tire in a performance category, then the most aggressive tread pattern in a touring category looks like the Bridgestone Turanza LS-H which is also a great tire and has a 50K tread life warranty.

they sure do have a big picture of this one! that's a bad *** looking tread pattern..... wicked. Prolly do make a bunch of noise. I don't know much about car tires. I've had a Jeep for the past 10 years with BFGoodrich Mud T/A's - now there's some road noise for ya. They were supposed to be the pick for least road noise because they have what's called a 3 stage lug that I suppose makes the noise at 3 different frequencies so that it's not all concentrated at one and balances out a little. I wonder if there are aggressive car tread patterns that do something similiar.
