This going to be first time that I will be replacing tires since I bought my 95/SC400 couple of years back. What should I be looking for in new tires. Any suggestions on a good tire place (from price point) in Bay area, CA?

Traction/Treadwear/Temperature ratings. Reading user/consumer reviews is also a good place to start. As for pricing near BA,CA, well its a little obvious I cant suggest anything there, but tirerack.com, discounttire.com, and of course flea-bay.

Discount Tire or America's Tire is good - same company really, with good website. Tire Rack is hard to beat as well. You don't say what size you are going to - if stock 16" I highly recommend Michelin Sport A/S. It is an all season high perf. tire. Whether you need the all season capability or not, it has good treadwear and all the performance in the dry that you'll need. Very quiet, good handling, etc. I put these on my '97 SC400 and they have been great. If you are going to a 17 or 18 inch, and you want a good price point in a summer high perf. tire, check out the Falken FK452. Have them on my BMW and love them.
