Default help a rookie out

what offset do i need to have to run 245/40/19's or a "fat setup" on my 99 gs 300.
i have 235/35/19's now and they like less than a 1/2 inch rubbing the control arm bolt.
dont knwo what offset they are but i will find out and post.guy at my local tire store says there
is no way i can run 40's ???????????? any help you can give this rookie just getting started
would be appreciated......

i'll post the offset i have now as soon as i find out what it is

With +38 or lower offset, you can clear the upper control arm bolt.

So if offset is +41 will that work???? or does it need be +38, +37 or +36 to work...
wasnt clear which way "lower" meant.....

"Lower" means +38, +37, +36.... +41 is really pushing, it will be really really close to touch the upper control arm depends on the tires you use.
