Post Specs Here......
Why doesn't everyone post their
1.Brand of Rim
2.Rim size
3.Offset
4.Brand of tire
5.Tire size
6. Spring/Shock Brand
7.Drop amount
8.Do they rub.
**Edit** What Model do you have?
That way any time someone is looking for wheels/tires, they have a quick reference of all the different circumstances in one location which is apples to apples.
I've noticed that people have posted specs before but leave out one factor or another, Which makes the comparison impossible. Searching for all circumstances is nearly impossible.
People won't buy unless they are sure because you can't return em once you buy em.
I'm still a rookie, as all of my cars were bought except for the GS. I leased it for 24 months (Have about 21 left), so i'm a little hesitant to modify extensively (You shoulda seen my TL before I gave it up) Mods are VERY minor so far:
1. Mille Miglia HT-3 In Carbon Grey
2. 17X8
3. 45
4. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
5. 235/45/17
6. Stock (for now)
7. N/A
8. Not yet
Model I'm referring to: GS3
Planning a Spring/Shock upgrade, most probably L-tuned, unless Daizen's up-coming spring/shock pricing is competitive. I don't want to spend so much on my mods, I have other things to worry about financially, which is why i'm staying away from coilovers. Let's face it, how many of you have coilovers and actually adjust the ride height often? I doubt I'd be getting an STB or sways, as they are a lot pricier than normal (I Spent under $300 for the sways front and back I had on my TL) No body kit or wing, I like the "clean" look. I'm spoiled by the silence, so I think i'm going to pass on the exhaust this time. Brakes? Probably just paint the calipers. I don't drive too fast, so I don't need a reason to stop any faster than the legal speeds I drive.. That's it, I think, unless I get this impulse to spend.
Ed
P.S. A lot of my choices/decisions will be based on all of your responses that you post here, and I'm sure it would also help a lot of other members as well. MODS, if this actually goes somewhere, can we sticky this thread? Thanks!

On my 2001 GS430
1) iForged
2) 20x8.5 F and 20x10 R
3) +41 F and +43 R
4) Toyo Proxes T1-S
5) 245/35-20 F and 275/30-20 R
6) Tein FLEX Coilovers
7) Not sure, but the top my rear tire sits even with the fender (no gap). I have a 1 finger gap in front.
8) This isn't a straight forward answer. On 20's, even when driving straight, if you car is low enough and you hit a dip, you can rub the inside fender lining because the overall diameter is larger than stock, But this will go away. On my setup, since I've had 20's for so long, this no longer happens. Now if the steering is cranked to one direction or another and I compress the suspension all the way, it can/will rub the fender but you can do this with nearly any wheel/tire setup.
Shoofin - It's not about always adjusting your coilovers (but I have done so 3 times), but it's about getting it to the RIGHT height. With springs, you are limited to whatever the manufacturer decides is "good". So on your 19's, it might have been "just right" but then if you upgrade to 20's, it might be too low and guess what? You're stuck. You'll have to buy another set of springs that fit your need (if they even make one).
Now having said that, I can understand your unwillingness to buy coilovers especially since you leased...can't help you there, I never lease any of my cars...I like to do real mods to my cars so I just skip over leasing.
As for swaybar prices, there is no such thing as "pricier than normal" since there is no "normal" price for them. Now if TRD made sways for the Acura TL and they were $200 less than the ones for the GS, there might be an issue there but you can't compare just two models and get a "normal" price. Price the GS's sways compared to sways for a Mercedes from Brabus or Lorniser...all of sudden, they look pretty damn cheap, eh?

I just realized that the thread was moved. I would think that each model should have it's own "wheels/tire" category, or at least it should be a part of the "Suspension/Handling" Section for each model, considering that wheels are an important factor to suspension and handling. Now the people who reply won't even know what kind of car they are referring to by replying to this My $.02
I guess I'll edit the original post and add the "Model" to the thread
