I have wondered also. With stock 19s these look like they could use more tire. Anyone?
I don't need the lecture that Lexus/Michelin, etc knows best and it's not smart/safe/etc to use anything larger. I've been around and know better. Mostly, I know a bit more tire will make it work better but have other cars for serious performance. I want to stay with the rather skinny 8x19s and keep the car looking unassuming.

Other than stock 245/45 I was considering 255/45 as it’s only slightly taller than the 245 and still well under 3% of the 235/50/18 set up. Search tire calculator to get an accurate number.

As usual with Toyota/Lexus they equip us with the narrowest rim possible.

VanCityLS4: Thanks. I have looked into it and pretty much thought the same. Perhaps even a 265/45-40 [although the 265 isn't as common and the 255 offers a lot more tire choices]. Like I suspect our OP is thinking, the tires appearance is a bit undersized. For me, that, and I am hopeful going oversize might get back the Factory -at least in the USA- 3MPH margin they build into the speedo.

I remain impressed with the performance of the standard issue Michelin summer tires. I didn't expect them to work so well. I know from my high performance cars that wider rims transmit a lot of noise and road shock into cars. The LS 19s may not look that sexy but do the job. .

Any updates? Has anyone tried a particular tire with any conclusions? My stock spec Michelins are finally low on tread and I will likely get tires before the rains start [Northern California- usually not that much rain and no snow]. I plan to avoid run-flats [noise-ride].

Has anyone tried 255/45/19 or 265 maybe on the Oem 19" F sport rims? im beginning to like these rims more and maybe a wider and taller tire will give it a Stance the 245/45 tires fail to deliver.

Some people didn’t have issues with 255/45 but I had issues with my front wheel rubbing on the inside. The rear wheels look good with them on though.

What year model do you have? Why would others have no issues but you do? I wish someone had photos of them on

I have a 2013+ version. I believe everyone else has had theirs on the 2007-2012 version. Seems like that pre-refresh version fits the larger tire. Same for the LC500 21” wheels. I’ve seen the pre-refresh fit 275/35 on all 4 corners.

I’ve actually fit 255/35/21 up front without an issue. I believe the 2014 f sport can take 275 up front. Someone in the wheel/tire is running 265 all around on. 2013+ model..

I am not an owner of a 13+, however I spent hours researching the maximum size I could run on my 2011 LS without major rubbing and 0 suspension mods with no air suspension.

From researching your model year, a 28" overall diameter tire (In this case a 255/45/19) will have no issues at all with rubbing, anywhere. you gain roughly 3/4" total diameter , and .4 inches of total width (Pretty nominal but will be noticeable)

The stock wheel size you are running by the way, is 19x8 with a +32 offset. As you see in the picture here, 255/45/19 is the largest you should run on a 19x8 (Though u could stretch the living hell out of the side wall if you choose to running higher and on a 40 series)

Hope this helps!

As you can see here, this is the original size tire versus the 255/45/19 you are inquiring about. totally doable!

As you can see marked in GREEN, these are the maximum sizes you can feasibly run, though take note of the wheel size requirements in width on the right. On your wheel, 255/45/19 will work, as will 275/40/19, but that will stretch your sidewall , and I wouldn't do it. The 275/40/19 also is shorter in overall diameter, filling less of the wheel well gap.

Trust me when I say 255/45/19 will work just fine U actually gain a hair more sidewall as well for added driving comfort!

Its always good to research! trust me I know lol. I think you will be happy albeit it is a nominal difference. I can attest tho, going cheaper on the tires as I did for my more aggressive test definitely will grant more road noise/feel. I purchased Lexani LX Twenty UHP ZR 21's due to them being under 600 shipped for 4. Continental DWS06 UHP's are available in your size and ARE the way to roll! Had these on my Infiniti M45x and never experienced a better tire (Even over the Michelin AS4's) Ill be replacing my tires with these if available for sure.

They are hands down the best wet traction tire I have ever experienced, with subperb dry handling, VERY quiet and my set was still 5/32's with 30k miles put on them when I sold the M45x.

Good Luck!

I just tried a post with images but it failed. I had a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 265/45/19 installed recently. These are taller, much wider, and much higher performance tires. I used to be a racer and sometimes in classes restricted to street legal sizes. We regularly pushed the size limits for more performance. These tires may not look attractive as they have an "old school - fat tire" look. However, they DO fit without rubbing, ride softer on our poorly kept CA roads, and eliminate the annoying higher than actual speed indication on the speedo- it's dead on now. The downside is a slight low pitch tire noise at certain highway speeds [hum at 70- gone at 65 or 75+].. and they "look funny" by contemporary standards. Every time I hit a large pothole I'm SO glad I went to this tire size. Compared to the stock 245/45 these don't impact with almost no harshness.

These are one size larger than Michelin recommends and I admit when I inspected them next to my rims it gave me pause. My tire guy insisted "They WON'T FIT!". I explained my racing background, calculations, that I could raise the ride height if needed [air suspension], and that I accepted all liability if they didn't work out. He was surprised they fit so well. The only downside so far is the cost of these tires and expected short life [I don't put many miles on- whatever]. I find it a bit amusing that these tires give the car a bit of the 80s "cop car look". They also fill the wheel wells- no spacers, just the stock forged BBS factory alloys.

For most people I suggest using the 255/45/19s in an all season tire. If I get exceptionally short tire life I might end up using these someday.
I will try uploading some images now.
