Kumho Ecsta PA31 for '06 IS 350?
I'm looking for new all-season tires for my 2006 IS 350, to replace my worn out Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plusses. The Michelin's were good tires, lasting about 45K miles, but the fronts need to be replaced and the rears too in another 6-12 months.
I'm trying to figure out which all season tires to buy next, for good dry and wet traction, and occasional snow in the winter (I'm in the DC area). One tire I read good things about is the Kumho Ecsta PA31; it's a more inexpensive tire ($100) but gets great reviews and seems like it comes in my car's size for the front tires: 225/40-R18. However, tirerack.com and other websites don't show it as a fit, I'm guessing because it doesn't come in a 255/40-R18 size for the rear tires. Is that why? Could I run Kumho's in the front, and the Continental DWS in the rear, when it comes time to replace them?

I would not recommend mixing them and the Continental Extreme Contact DWS would be a much better choice, on all four corners.
If inexpensive is what you are seeking, the Kumho Ecsta 4X would be a better solution, as it is available in both sizes needed.
