Default Need Help with Tires 2007 ES 350

Please help me pick some good tires. I know Tirerack and couple of other sites but I am looking for All season tires. It does snow here and my car was slipping and sliding all over. I have 60K miles on it now. I called the Lexus dealership. They only have one tire in stock, its michelin Mxv4 or something like that, each is $ 230.
Can anyone recommend any good tires that are good to drive in snow. I don't want to invest in separate Winter tires, just want All season tires.
Thanks in Advance.

Have used Kumho Platinum tires with good results. Price was right but all in all, I would go with a Michelin tire that has a treadwear warranty.

Michelin Primacy! M&S rated, but pretty expensive.

Thanks guys....From what I have been searching on here. Most of you are recommending Michelin MXV4. I know they are bit pricy than some other tires. I might head just across the border to Detroit area for a better deal. I know here our local dealer want $ 230 for each tire, $ 100 installation and then you add 13 % tax. I would be looking at lot more. I don't care how long the tires would last, I don't mind changing them but I want some good safety as we do get snow here even though we have been really lucky so far.
I guess I will be buying Michelin MXV4 S8 ( I think they are Primacy ) All season tires.
If any of you guys recommend any good place to get the tires changed in US, please let me know as I am planning to go to Novi Area in Michigan on Weekend.

If you still have any last minute pointers, please post them.

Thanks

Before I totalled my 2007 ES, I put the MXV4 Primacy tires on it after dealing with some horribly loud directional pattered tires that came with the car. I paid $129/ea at Tirerack back in late April 2011 for the "H" rated version. (H rated is good for 130mph - anything more on this car is a waste of money).

The same tire can be had for $156/ea at the moment. I didn't get a chance to try them in the snow - the car was totalled like 6 weeks later. But they were really smooth and quiet tires - which was important to me in this type of car.

If you haven't ordered from Tirerack before - it's a pretty easy process. You can choose a local installer AND see what their prices are before hand. They simply drop-ship them to the installer, and you call them up to make an appt. So if you can wait 2-3 days this is certainly the way to go.

Believe it or not - even a place that SELLS tires like NTB will install tires from Tirerack!

You can always call Tirerack as well - the folks on the phone are awesome.

I see you are from Ontario and Canadian Tire has the Mich Primacy MXV4 on sale this week / buy 3 at the regular price and get the 4th for free. As to wether that's a deal or not, you'll have to shop around.

I think Canadian tire has the sale buy 3 and get one free for only Motomaster brand....I called up Costco in US ( livonia, MI ) and the guy gave me price of $ 850. That's pretty good compared to what my local dealership is charging me for the same tire $ 1300. I am going to drive to Livonia, only 13 miles from my house to GET R DONE !!!

Just buy the Michelin Primacy MXV4s and be done with it. Once you have them you'll never go back to any other tire.

I've had the Kumho LX Platinums and Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring tires before. They were great at first, but wore quickly in the ride comfort and noise level department. Nothing has ever been able to last the LONG-TERM quality and durability of a top rated Michelin tire. They are worth their weight in gold.

Ditto smarty666 comments on the Kuhmos. Will replace tires on my '11 Impala LTZ ina few months (have tried them all on my previous '07 Impala SS) and will go with treadwear warranted Michelins.

Go with the Michelin if you dont mind overspending on an over priced tire...The Goodyear Assurance Touring was recently redesigned and has an excellent treadwear warranty tire at 70k........My recommendation is Goodyear Assurance TOURING ...The original set of bridgestone wore out at 26k.....

You can buy Michelins for less then $700 at Discount Tire. (last time I checked. This is reprinted from my earlier post)

Discount Tire in GA is $680.
Michelin will have another $70 rebate no doubt. I picked up Xice for this winter with the last rebate.

Consumer reports rated Primacy MXV4 as best tire. I have them on my 3.5L V6 Camry 215/55/17 same size as ES ...... quiet, great traction, 60K mile warranty ..... mine have 32K and less than half worn. The newer Primacy MXM4 has a V rating but is a bit more noisy according to people on the ToyotaNation forum.

Put Primacy MXV4's on the (ex) wife's 2002 ES300 as well in 2009. After 20K miles they still looked about brand new. To get her upgrade for ice & snow, she traded the Lexus in on a 2011 AWD Highlander SE.
