Default Re-Lipping rims, am I measuring right?

Heres me measuring.

My rears a 3 inch lip so I assume? The whole rim is a 20x10, so that leaves the inner barrel as a 7inch and lip as 3 inch?

same measurement different angle.

So if I wanted a 20x11.5 I would have to buy 4.5 inch lips? It all seems too simple too me..

It's difficult to say how the manufacturers measure their barrels. I'd say the more technical way to measure would be to have your multi-piece wheel disassembled and measure from the mounting flange to the face of the lip. That should give you the correct overall width of the outer lip.

That doesn't mean what you're doing is wrong. Your manufacturer could use your measurements and figure out the correct width through their specs. Lastly, I'm sure you've given some thoughts about your offsets? Since you're only changing the outer barrel, the extra width is going to push outwards.

No your not. To get the correct measurement , the tire should be off or the wheel should be taken apart. Can you give me more information?

Yea I was just going to say it would be better to dismount the tires, but I don't have that option right now.

Yea making sure the wheels lips are true to size you should take out the faces and measure from the flange of the putter shell nothing more true than that.

you should measure your rims like this. the outer lip on my rim is 1", inner barrel 5.5" and the face is sandwich mounted so that is 0.5"
