Default Help - Where can I buy some centering Rings?

I have a vibration at 50 -60MPH
The guy at the shop showed me that the wheel is balanced and the problem is that when you toss in on the hub it moves slightly back and forth. To get rid of this you need to get hub centering rings.

The problem is the shop where I bought the rims is closed??? Gone???.

I have quality rims and just need someone that knows where I can either try some sizes out or that sells SSR and knows what sizes I need.

I have a 2000 GS400 w/ SSR Agle Strusse 18" Rims.

I sent an email to RMM. Hopefuly someone can help.

Doesn't anybody know what size i need?

Anybody running SSR rims on a 98+GS????

Take off a rim and get out a tape measure.

adr wheels makes hub rings, but almost any good rim shop should have this item... sales@adrwheels.com

you don't really need hubcentricity since you can use your lugs to center the wheel. basically snug one lug while you shake the wheel back and forth, snug another while shaking, and again, and you should see that it's got lugcentric mounting.

however, if neither lug- or hubcentricity works, then it could be the way the tire is mounted on the rim. for this you will need to find a tire shop with a hunter roadforce balancer... www.gsp9700.com

OK I see what the problem is.

The GS side is 60MM

The SSR side is 60MM

There is no adapter nessasary.

And yet I have play when the tire is on the hub and vibration at 60MPH.

So something is way off. the SSR side can't be 60mm like RMM is saying.

There is no bends in the rims. they are true.
The wheels are balanced and they are all properly torqued on all four.

I'm stumped.
I really don't want to take off a wheel and mesure this but it will most likely be the only straight awser I will get.

After talking with three separate shops that carry my rims no one can help me out.

I also drove just fine for the first two years of ownership of these rims.

check the tires?

I had a similar problem... Everything was fine until I replaced the front tires. It started wobbling and etc... I ended up getting another set and it was fine.

the wheel balancer is telling me that the wheel and rim are OK.

But, I hear what you are saying that it could still be the tire.

since they rebalanced and retorqued it is almost gone.

It's just weird that the shop pointed me in the direction of the

centering rings and I hit a dead end in that direction.

I did not purchase the tires from the shop so It wont be easy to

just get another pair of tires. I will just have to avoid this brand

in the future.
