Tire and wheel fitment
Can i fit a 275 35 18 on a 18X9 wheels?? I have just recently bought set of Blitz Z2 in 18X8 and 18X9, my tires are 245 40 18 in front and 275 35 18 in rear.... At first i thought i was gonna get the 18X10 in the rear....but then the merchant called back and said they were out of 18X10.....so, i can only go with 18X9 in the rear....unfortunately i already had the tires (in the size mentioned above)....I am really worry now that they won't fit....then i have to send the tires back....Please give me some good news....Thanks...

not a problem.... ideally you would want 9.5 for 275s...but 18x9 would work too( though the wheel would appear to be undersized)...i would have gone 18x8.5+10 or 18x9+10....
btw, if you do not mind me asking, how much were the Z2s...? thanks

Thank you for the reply, i am sorry but what do you mean by undersized?? What does that look like?? I bought mine for $2660 included over night shipping. I was looking for the Blitz silver color but they were all out. I was fortunated to find one last set ( Almost every placed that i called were out, back order, or waiting for the shipment from Japan). I'll post the pict once i am done with putting all the mods together.

undersize..hmm i do not really know how to explain in words..basically the tyres would cover the wheels more..for my front, i am using 245x40/18 on 18x9...in this case, the wheel is a bit "oversized" for the tyre...there is a bit of stretch, no big deal though...good price...

The 275 tire = approximately 10.83" wide overall. If you place it on a 9" wide wheel (really 10" wide edge-to-edge), the tire still "wants" to be 10.83" wide overall.
Hence, the tire will have a 'bulge' to the sidewall, about .4" of bulge on either side of the rim.
This is why an 18x10 (really 18x11" wide edge-to-edge) is a good for a tire that is 10.83" wide. I'd wait for the 18x10!
