Ok, I need some basic help here. Trying to understand how the
sizing for wheels go. I currently have the 17x8's on my 4. I'm trying to upgrade, but the TiresPlus I went to said that I couldn't upgrade to 18x9's. So, I'm trying to learn more about my options for upgrading tires/wheels in size. The difference between 17x8's
and 18x9 is what, 1 inch taller, 1 inch wider? What are some things to keep in mind as far as:
offset size?
bolt?
wheel size?
width of rim/tire?
I guess I want a little more of a "deep dish" look. Let me know. Thanks.
So, even though the TiresPlus guy says that I can't get 18x9's, there really isn't a can't? I see people in here with 9.5's, so I don't see why I couldn't do a 9.
I don't know anyone with 9.5's up front. You can do it in the back though, or 10s. Up front people generally go with 8.5s up front but I've heard 9s fit. I personally wouldn't want even more rubber or rim weight up front.
18x8.5 f+r...if you do not want staggering
18x8+9...bit undersized, but ok
18x8.5+9.5...almost the best fit...
18x9+10...more aggressive, be careful with offset and tyre selection..
offsets +38 to +45 would work, depends on wheel width..
