I think the RE760 has the edge over the S-Drive in terms of dry performance.

I like the S-Drives. Bridgestone IMO will only be more expensive.

It really depends on your driving style. For pure dry tires, I'd stick to the bridgestone since they have higher silica compound the the shoulder blocks are harder and more round to aid in a better cornering and handling tire. But if you're looking for everyday tire with good all around performance, I'd go with the S.Drive since they are cheaper and is a good tire all around. I've personally have used both these tires before.

i don't really drive it hard, but i'm happy with my Bridgestone RE760 S tires. price was reasonable and UTQG tread-wear rating was high. Tire rack ranks it the 1st or 2nd, while S drive is 3rd. not sure if you read it, but the last issue of Car and Driver ranked it better than yokohama S. drive in every category (dry and wet braking, autocross time, sound level) except weight. bridgestone was the heaviest by 3.3lb.. i just checked the price for your rear, and difference is only $8 each.. this is no brainer..

EDIT: couple correction here, sound level is the same for both, skid pad under 'wet' condition was better for yokohama.. seems both tires are very compatible, but RE760S with better result for most.. i personally never tried S drive, purely based on the test numbers. didn't want make my opinion seem biased, but i've been only using Bridgestones in the past..

The RE760's outperform the S Drives across the board... IMO, they are an excellent value tire.

It's funny that because people see the Bridgestone name, they assume its expensive. Kinda like Lexus, when you can buy a Lexus for just a few dollars more than a Camry, depending on options and model of course...

As mentioned, there is only a few dollars difference, and for the RE760 to be better across the board, the difference is definitely worth it...

I have about 20k miles on my S.drives so far. I'm guessing I can get somewhere in-between 10 and 20k more miles, 20k being optimistic. I like these tires and have no complaints about them. However since this is my first set of low profile tires I would like to explore other options out there.

Depending on how much you would like to spend. On the lower pricing end I have read good things on the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo and those are 25 bucks cheaper each front and 31 bucks rear than the S.drives. I'm reading a review from Car & Driver right now that has the Hankook ranked 2'nd while the Yoko's are 6th and the RE760 sport is 4th. Interestingly they rated the Nitto Invo 8th! Here is the link http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests . Hope this helps.
