Im at lexus right now getting a brake job and the service advisor tells me the Lugs are ceased, and if the lugs keep trying to be forced out it can mess up the hub... can someone explain this to me and tell me what i can do

seized is the word you are looking for...

worst case scenario, you have to have new studs installed with new lugs...

who is the last person to install wheels, or tighten lug nuts - if they truly are seized, it's their fault...

The lugs have ceased to turn. Were they the correct thread pitch for the vehicle? Are these after market wheels? Were they not right but forced on?

Ok soo one the nuts basically snapped off, i didnt know this.

GSoup ill hit u up soon

mitsu, it was installed by the same people i bought the tires from, after gettin a flat on that wheel. Theyve worked on my car before, but never had problem. what do u mean new studs? cause lexus claims the hub can get damaged. is this true?

Brandon, they ARE aftermarket wheels, and what do u mean thread pitch, im not really into wheels. sorry

thanks everyone

thread pitch is how many threads per inch or mm are on a stud / lug - if they match in stud/lug diameter, but are off in thread count, then they will fit, and with an impact will easily go on - not to have a problem until they come off...

Lexus, in this case, is retarded... certain vehicles that use lug studs such as Audi / VW / Mercedes / BMW could have the hubs damaged this way, but as far as I know, all of our Lexus' have replaceable wheel studs - on many cars, this requires nothing more than pulling the brake rotor, hammering out the old stud, and pulling in a new one (or 5).... I've replaced a couple on my car, and its literally a 30 minute job, less sometimes...
