im rinning 245s and lowered, so i dont think you will have a problem...
however, your car will track like a sonofa*****! mine follows grooves in the road now, i couldnt immagine with a wider front tire and on stock suspension. thats actually the size recommended for the rears.

I dont see how 255s would be a real problem to fit up front on 8''TT wheels. Theres definately more aggressive wheel/tire setups out there.
BTW, There's at least 1 CL member who is/was running the 9.5'' rear TT wheels on all 4 wheels. with little or no fitment issues. I dont recall who, nor do i remember the tire size he was using , im assuming 255 or 275.

I have 17x8 (not TT rims, but TT rims are also 17x8) up front and I'm running 245/45/17 on them and no rubbing at a +45 offset, so basically 255/40 WILL fit as that is an even thinner sidewall and TT rims are +50 offset.
Just as a reference, one time I had to mount my rear wheels (17x9, +45) on my fronts and those are wrapped with 255/45/17 and there were NO rubbing issues or fitment issues. That's a wider rim with the same size tire, so you should be alright.

yes it will rub...at least if you on on espiler type drop. I had the same size up front and then had to get smaller. Anyway the diameter might be alittle larger in the front than the rear, depending on the size of the rears, making it look pretty odd.

he is at stock height, at that height it will be so 4x4 that it wont even matter

I'm running 245/45 on the 17x8s and 255/45 on the 17x9s
Next time i gotta buy rears, i'm going 265/40/17 for a little wider look out back
