Painting Calipers?
Has anyone done this and does it actually last or does it just fade and chip away.
I dont necessarily want to fake the while "BBK" thing, but I wouldnt mind cleaning up what I got with a bit of blue or red.....
any advice from someone in the know?

A couple of selections ....

http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliper.html
Best to prep for painting by removing the four wheels and having the vehicle on four jackstands.

I used red engine paint (high temp) on my maxima - Looked great had done it 6 years ago.
They chipped a little bit when the tire installer banged my rims up against them.
All you need to do is put another coat on em and they will look like new.
Make sure you clean the calipers really good. I used brake cleaner and a brush.
Duplicolor now makes specific caliper paint with ceremic. I'm going to do them tomorrow on my LS 400. I bought the spray can.. They sell a paint on version with a brush.. But I think spray will be easier and more consistent. I'll post pics when I do it. The can is only about 7 bucks and it should cover all four calipers.

i also use the duplicolor engine high temp enamel. 3 or 4 bucks and it was a big *** can already. i also got the clear coat. imho that's more than enough (as shown on my 4 yr old painted calipers), so i really dont' see why spending awefully lot of money on other paint

thanks all, this is something I am gonna tackle one of these weekends soon. I did read on the instructions on tirerack that your not supposed to drive the car for 24 hours so the natural curing process can occur.
I didnt read that on the duplicolor site though, I dont think.
anyway, any opinions on blue?
I am kinda bummed they dont have a larger range of colors. I kinda want to do something a bit different, like a electric blue or something that would accent the silver of the car.

Duplicor painted calipers
Painted my calipers today.. Came out Great!
I painted them Red.. It may be a little loud for some. However after seeing my buddies White S500 AMG )(Brake and Suspension package) with red calipers I had to do it! My LS is White also.
I had trouble uploading the photos they were too large.
Here is the link to the photo album.
You'll have to log in. I posted pics start to finish.
