Default Help, Im rubbing a little bit

Just recently got my wheels on, and now I cant tell if Im rubbing in the front or back or both? I rub when I go over bumpy roads or if I hit abrupt dips. It sounds like rubbing on the plastic but I cant tell. I dont think Im rubbing on the metal lip..that would probably make a horrible sound?

what can I do?

thanks for your help, Lettuce

that wont' help much, when you hit a big dip, it always compresses a lot

you need to figure out what's rubbing first. if you want, spray grey primer on the inside of the fender and drive around, see where's black, that's where you rub. i suspect you are rubbing in the front, along the outer edge of the fender. there are two tabs, at around 10 and 2 oclock. you might consider bending them

That was exactly where I was having my problem and after altering them a bit the problem went away. Try removing the black plastic thing around the fender lip and see if that makes a difference. If your wheels are flush this could be the rubbing also

The rear lip with the rubber peice is within MM of rubbing the tire when compressed.

the front lip looks from the naked eye that I have proper clearance but when I hit a bump, I probably rub the plastic.

There are two tabs in the front fender well on each wheel. I can see them, but If I bend them up wouldnt that ruin(sp) the plastic lining? The front wheel plastic lining in very oddly shaped especially right above the center of the wheel?

ah sorry, more instructions here

those tabs, you see the clips that clip the plastic fender flap in right? and the fender plastic is on top of the tab right now, right? take off the clip. put the plastic flap BEHIND the tab instead. and then use a baseball bat or something and push the whole tab up, bend it.

that's what i did, solved almost all of the problem. i didn't even take off that black trim. i want to keep it

oh and if you rub i nthe rear, you should see marks on the side of the tires, go take a look if you have anything. and careful coz' this is very bad for the tire

if you rub in the back, then you have no choice but to shave the fender

fixed the problem, I have bent the two tabs in the front wheel wells almost straight up then forced the plastic lining behind them. What a difference, I can now drive the speed limit!!

THANKS ROMINL! and EVERYONE!
