Default steering and handling after supra wheels

I have a SC300.

I recently put on stock 17" Supra wheels on my car, with 235 front, and 275 rear tires. I didn't use any spacers or anything. It fit perfect (thanks to those who responded in my previous thread).

However, driving it around, the handling feels a little sloppy. Maybe it's not sloppy, but weird. It can definitely handle corners better, but it seems like something is wrong with the steering. Anyone else have these issues? Is there something wrong with my car?

Thanks everyone,
-Brian.

Default Tires

What tires are you using? What pressures are you running?

Supra rims are 9.5" wide in the rear.

Brian, is your car lowered with the 275's? When I put the TT wheels on, steering felt a bit slushy. Front tire tread was at about 50% and I put new front tires on and got an alignment and now it feels sharp.

Brandon,

The front tires are Dunlop SP (not the 8000s, I think 400 or something) with about 50% tread left, and the rear tires are Sumitomo HTRZ-II tires with 90% tread left. I filled the air pressures to about 35 psi.

ToySoarer,

It's on the stock suspension, so it has a bit of a 4x4 look - just a bit though. What do you think made the biggest impact? The alignment or the new tires?

Thanks,
-Brian.

Default Pressure

You probably want to bump that up to like 38-40 and mixing tires is not the ideal performance situation.

I drove on the new tires for about 30 min. till arriving at the alignment shop and it felt alot smoother. I would recommend getting new tires next. Then if you do lower your car, get an alignment so you wouldn't have to do it twice.
