The same. You would only get more drop with RS-R super down springs.

Are the springs the only items that need to be purchased (excuse my ignorance please)? What things can be done to improve ride quality after lowering spring install?

None that I know of these are rwd springs in a awd car spc rear camber a dusters are needed for proper rear alignment
