Default GSh + 1" drop springs = ?" drop in the rear

I know that the GSh weighs more in the back than other 3GS RWDs. I also know that nobody makes a GSh specific set of drop springs. Therefore, If I add a set of 1" drop springs (like F-sport) to my GSh, will I see a >1" drop in the rear? Has anyone actually measured this with a GSh? Thanks for any help here.

No because your car is different. I would find a quality set of coils and check to see if anyone has tested them on your car.

Im sure you could use them and they would work. Ride may be sacrificed and the ride height may not sit even. Also prone for premature strut failure IMO because of the extra weight.

Sorry Passnu, but that's FUD (fear uncertainty doubt) you've extolled.
Read the list of vehicles they can be used on, and the exception - http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2008/2957.html

The HV battery package only weighs 69kg (about the same as a 14-15 yo boy!), not the 400lbs Mike at Vossen suggests here - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...-do-i-get.html

Unless Sewell have made a ****-up, then I'd contend the info provided on the linked page is correct, and because Lexus R&D'd a single solution across the range, even if your part numbers relate to two different standard springs.

There was a link to a performance pdf in another thread here, which resolved to Lexus' website, where you can choose models and add the available F-Sport parts interactively.
Since the 3rd gen has been replaced by the 4th, it can't be verified that way any more, as the new hybrid no longer uses spring over shock design in the rear.
As such, I've contacted Sewell to confirm the info is correct - hopefully they're quick with their replies.

GS450h Curb Weight: 4,134

GS350 rwd Curb Weight: 3,795 lbs.

I highly doubt the batter only ways 69kg and the added weight is not only from the battery

But I'm here and ready I also want "facts" not that this will "fit" as I have worked on one to many to know what can and cant fit on these cars.

https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo...ocs/gs450h.pdf

Battery pack contains 40 7.2v Ni-MH batteries for a total weight of 69kg.
Only other weight is secondary 12v battery, unless active stabilizer fitted (in place of conventional ARB).
Even at double the hybrid pack alone, the springs should cope.

That said, you might be right - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...-for-sale.html
Can't state it's conclusive proof without knowing if it was parked on level ground, nothing in the boot or back seats, or the shocks weren't in need of replacing, but the rear does look a bit saggy for just a spring change.

Yeah I've been told around 300lbs... And I have attempted to lift one lol... So it's not 400 but other parts add up to the 400

Default Will I see a 1.5" drop

What I'd like to know is how much of a drop can I expect in the rear of my GSh if I install a set of 1" drop spring. I think it is accepted that it will be more than 1" of actual wheel well drop. Will I see a
1.5" drop? Are there any GSh owners that have a before/after wheel well gap measurement relative to their particular manufactures expected drop?
