well, for $2500 i can get a new set of Tanabes every year for 10 yrs, way longer than i'd ever keep the car anyway and that's only IF they really do start to sag or bounce..

It's not the spring you have to worry about wearing out, but rather the shocks. Cheap quality springs will start to sag significantly over time, but high quality springs are pretty much designed to live the life of the car. OTOH ALL shocks, regardless of quality, will wear out. That is when your car will start feeling bouncey. This results from the loss of compression and rebound damping in the shock as it wears.

$2500 is on the very high end which honestly aren't necessarily the best ones btw. Most coilovers are $1000-$1500. So now it's only 5 years worth of new springs IF you didn't pay for the installation every single time too. What if you blow your shocks since you're now running your shocks with more preload compression? How much will that cost? Not only that, you can not control the height of your lower springs.

Springs will also "settle" at different rates so it's possible that you're springs will make your car sit lopsided eventually. I've seen it happen. It's also possible that the springs will settle SO MUCH (like with crappy Intrax springs) that the car will be too low. Then what? Now you have to take time out, go to the mechanic, buy new springs and then pay to have them installed. Again.

With coilovers, you just adjust them. You can control the height to your exact taste and you get to adjust for any sort of spring settling.

It amazes me that people will spend $50,000+ on a car but then when need to invest $1500 on a very critical part, they turn into cheapskates. I bet you guys get the $79 tint specials too? You know, the purple tint that bubbles after a year or so. Do you guys also buy the cheapest tires available?

The bottom line is that there is the correct way to do and the "band-aid" way to do it. Springs are a band-aid. If they end up not making coilovers for the AWD, then springs are your only choice but I don't see why they couldn't or wouldn't make a set for the AWD's.

If there were coilovers for the AWD model, I'd get them in a heartbeat. Manufacturers probably won't make them simply due to the low demand, since they figure most people with AWD wouldn't want to lower their cars. However, when I contacted TEIN about their coilovers, they said they would be interested in test-fitting an '06 GS300 AWD if someone in the SoCal area brought one in. Anyone in SoCal with an AWD that's willing to help out fellow AWD'ers?

bump for pics. you know I'm only going for what works. in my eyes its not even close to being a cheapskate but i don't see a need for an aggressive suspension mod when all i want is to fill the wheel gap, i say if it ain't broke don't fix it and if later down the road something does go wrong, not a problem. it sounds to me so far everyone with the nf210's keep the stock ride and that what i want, i haven't seen anywhere where someone has done another setup and is better....maybe i need to read more. my 2 cents.

The drop looks great, but what did Lexus screw up that you get that much brake dust? I've never seen dust like that on a Lexus, just BMWs ..

Looks like it's the new, larger brakes that are causing the increase in brake dust.

I'm scheduled to have the NF210's installed on my 07 GS350 AWD tomorrow. The shop that's installing them says I'll need a 4 wheel alignment afterwards and I'm being told I'll need to go to the dealer for the alignment because they'll have to reset the VSS after the alignment is done.

I presume the dealer is going to wonder why I'm bringing my brand spanking new 07 GS in for a 4 wheel alignment. Other places say they can't reset the VSS. Anybody else run into this and if so what did you do?

Thanks
