Tanabe 2 inch drop on stock 17's
I am about to install the Tanabe precidos on my stock gs400 with 17's. The shocks were just replaced by the dealer under warranty. How long do you think these will last with the 2inch drop using the Tanebe's and do you think it is TOO LOW? I do not want a rice or thug look. I want the sporty aggresive look... Does anyone have any pics of this setup? What will I be losing to gain the aggressive look?

Standard Lexus shocks will not handle the lowered springs (won't give you enough damping force).
I don't know how long it is going to take for them to wear out, though: it all depends on how you drive, over what kinds of surfaces, etc.
In general, though, getting lowered springs (with higher spring rate than stocks) requires stronger shocks that can provide appropriate damping. If you drive like a grandma, you should be OK, but if you want to back up the aggressive sporty look once in a while, you're not going to like the ride. The stock GS suspension is floaty enough (because the shocks don't provide enough rebound damping); the shorter springs will make it worse.
I suggest selling the stock shocks and getting shocks that are specifically designed for lowering springs (Bilsteins, KYBs, etc.): the job would cost you ~the same $ as without shocks.
Good luck.

i have 1.55/1.2" drop with stock 17s for now..handles great, but, the look is not ideal compare to my ld 18 and or 19s...with 17s, the "tuck" too much and will be more so with 2" drop
stock shock is ok for now, but for only $225 on the L-tuned KYB shocks, you save future install cost adn alignment..your call
