front suspension - mot advisory
i have been given an mot advisory as follows:-
"front suspension slight play in nearside lower suspension ball joint" -
how serious is this(i.e. can it wait for a couple of weeks to be done) and what is the likely total cost?.

am trying to get it done this saturday or next saturday -
i have a 200 mile round trip that i must do on sunday and after that i am only doing 15 mile round trips to work monday to friday and probably 30 miles at weekends -
should i be cancelling them all?
strange how "what you don't know never worries you" - i could have been driving around oblivious to it all since the last mot 12 months ago.
is there any way of picking things like this up outside the mot dates or does one just has to rely on being lucky -
i suppose something very serious would be obvious due to the handling etc. etc.

I saw this old thread and remembered when I went through something like that. I think that this is not very serious and you shouldn’t have problems taking care of it. A car is something that you have to invest in. All the time. For some, MOT can be very confusing and you have to know all the details that could help you in it. It’s useful when you have a MOT checklist and guide that is useful to you when you want to know everything about it. By the way, how much did it cost? I’m in need of some advice with my costs and I’ve been searching the internet for information. After all, this is where people can get advice, isn’t it?

Pole Position
Put new OEM ball joints in, i did NOT use a press to put them in.... Is this required? Or is meeting correct torque spec good enough ? I can tell a difference in OEM vs mevotech definitely.
