Default Is the castor arm and the lower control arm the same thing?

I looked all over the place and thought I knew for sure they were and then read something else to make me think they are not the same.

Please tell me, are the castor arms also called the lower control arms?

Thank you!

No, it is not the same thing. check rockauto or the parts catalogue for detailed pictures.
Also you find pictures of the caster arms here
