Help: front upper Ball Joint removal and/or SPC installation
I'm considering options for addressing the alignment issues I have following the installation of my BC coils on my 2008 IS250 AWD.
I'm considering front upper SPC ball joints. So far the installation quote I have (which includes installation of rear camber arms and alignment) is $350-400. Which has made me strongly consider the DIY route ...
If anyone has experience DIY with removing the front upper ball joints and/or installing the SPC ball joints (especially without the SPC ballpoint removal tool), I'd really appreciate any info/advice on the process. I've done some searching but haven't found any detailed tutorial ... My bad in advance if it's there and I've simply missed it.

Honestly, if you don't have access to a hydro press to press out the OEM ball joint, you'll need someone to do it for you. Once the OEM ball joint is pressed out though, it is cake. In my case I couldn't have any downtime, as my 2IS is my DD. So I purchased some used IS-F UCAs and had those ball joints pressed out and installed the SPCs. Took an afternoon one weekend and swapped out the two sets of UCAs. Cake really!
But yeah, you will want to get an alignment afterward.

I did it myself with a friend. It took me a few hours. I have is250 rwd. So not sure what's the different with awd. I actually have to dremel some part of the Oem upper control arm so spc ball joint will sit flush with Uca. It say it in the instruction too. There is a link your car can have issue if u r too low ....that u might wanna read.
