Fortune Auto 510 vs BCR
Hey guys/girls! For the past two years I've been running the Megan LP coilovers, and while they have treated me very well, and have never given me any problems, I am considering purchasing either Fortune Auto 510 series or BCR with swift spring suspension. The reason I want to get new suspension is because the Megan LP's are not stiff enough for me and the way that I like to drive . My friend has a set of BCR's with swift springs on his IS-F and he loves them, but I've been considering the Fortune Auto 510 track series with the swift spring upgrade as well. I just wanted to see if anyone here has experience with BOTH on their 2IS. Any info is greatly appreciated! I will be purchasing my new suspension by mid January-February.
Thanks in advance for the info! It is much appreciated

a buddy of mine has these Fortune Auto 510 coilovers for his accord. They are great coils for the money BUT on the street they are SUPER uncomfortable. I think he upgraded them to 18k/12k springs and they just make driving the car on the street a task and a half. I even got nauseous just riding passenger on the highway. I am also in NY where the roads are **** so take that into account. What ever springs you have will depend on how stiff the car rides.
When he goes to the track though, that's where you really get your moneys worth. almost no body roll and tires stay planted at all times.

Sometimes when a company markets an item as "TRACK USE ONLY" it is for a good reason. In the case of the 510 series the "Ultra Double Digressive" valving means that anything short of the equivalent of a curb on a track at speed isn't going to make the shock move and soak up anything, regardless of the spring rate you use. Fasten your seatbelts, secure the fillings in your teeth, and hold on!
You should be comparing the 500 series from Fortune Auto to the BCRs. In which case I would choose the 500 Fortune Auto units.
Another option is that if you are happy with your Megan Racing LPs, but want a stiffer ride you can order up some stiffer springs from Swift and be happy. Usually you can go around 20% stiffer on the spring and have the damper still be happy.

I have the BC's with 12K/10K Swift springs. Only have done 2 track days with them on (3rd next weekend) but they are a big improvment over the stock IS350 sport suspension. On the street they are slightly stiffer but still ride very nice with the dampening toned down a bit. At the track I run them on almost full hard and there is very noticable difference from my daily driving steetings. Almost wish I would have gone with the 14K/10K rates since I track the car quite a bit but all in all I am happy with them and they offer a very good performance gain without killing the ride quality.
Can't compare with the Fortune Autos though.

I doubt there are huge differences in the shock itself between the 500 and 510 that make the 510 inherently more suited to track use over the 500. With the 500 you get the benefit of digressive valving without over-doing it. The 510 would give better performance through reduced body movement due to weight transfer (roll, dive, & squat) at the expense of bruising your kidneys the 360+ days of the year you aren't driving on the track.

I would say if you haven't/don't plan on going to the track, then the fortune auto 510 is a bit overkill for street driving for the sake of being "Low" or "Slammed". If its just for looks and you want stiff, I would stay with the Megan/BC with upgraded springs.

Hmm.. what about the 500s then? I'm currently dropped about 2.75 inches all around and would like to keep it that way. I know BC has their "extreme low" option, but not completely sure abou the Fortune auto. Once again, l would really like to go with something different but if the BC better suits my needs, so will go with BC. I guess the decision is between BC and FA 500 now. I really wish someone on here had FA so they could give their input
