Default New shocks needed with springs?

So this is my first time posting on club lexus, looking for some advice. I've spent some time browsing through the forum, but not too clear on what I should do.

I have an 07 Is-250 awd. I plan on buying the f sport lowering springs. My question is, am I going to need new shocks if my ride is lowered from the springs?

IF it is a necessity, where (and what product) would you recommend? I'm not to fond of buying the F sport shocks.

Also, what are your opinions on the F sport springs, compared to other brands? Like hotchkis, tein, etc.

Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

First off, welcome to CL.

Secondly, what's the mileage on your 250?

Most members here are going to recommend installing coilovers. Which would take care of your question. Now if you decide to go the spring route, the current mileage and how low you want to drop the car will determine if you should get new shocks. Some will say get them anyway since your already doing the spring swap. There's just a few factors that can help you fine the answer to this.

As far as springs, the F-Sport springs are progressive which makes it an inconsistent spring rate. I've researched Swift springs and found them to be linear just like stock springs which might be preferable. Do a search and you'll find a lot of info here.

Either stay at your current height or dont waste your money on the fsport springs, the drop is not even 1 inch.

Want to know how your car would look with fsport springs? Get 5 family members / friends that are on the heavy side and have them all sit in your car. Thats how it would look

I would not say it is a waste of money.

I have a 07 is250awd with f-sport springs and stock shocks on my car and I personally like the drop. The awd sits higher then the RWD vehicles so the drop seems more noticeable then others are giving credit for. Wheel gap is significantly reduced and I get no vibrations. I’ve been running this set-up of 20K miles.

If you install F-sport shocks I heard they make the car sit higher because of the longer travel so this may negate some ride height if you install them with these springs.
