Default Replacing a caliper - can I temporarily get by with only bleeding that one line?

I am planning to replace my front passenger side caliper, and it appears bleeding the brakes in this car can be a challenge. I don't mind paying the dealer $$ to bleed my brakes correctly after I do the work since they have the proper equipment.

Can I just bleed the line at the replaced caliper (ignition turned to "on" position and someone presses pedal while I open the valve on the caliper) and the car will operate somewhat normal/safe until I can get it to the dealer a few days later?

Also, what am I supposed to plug the line with while I am replacing the caliper so all of the fluid doesn't leak out? I think clamping it is a bad idea?

I replaced both of my front calipers and only bled the front lines. As long as there isn't air in the system it doesn't really matter what you do. You can clamp the lines to prevent leakage, just be careful not to damage them.

what toaster said... you only really need to bleed the line where you introduced the air...

also... for front brakes, the ignition doesn't need to be on to bleed... the front bleed as normal... the rears require the ignition on so the ABS pump can push the fluid...

i just did it this weekend...
